Rahul Gandhi will visit Bhagirathpura area here, where contaminated water has caused the most devastation. He will meet the families who have lost their loved ones due to this administrative negligence.
Congress’s uproar: protest through bhajan and fasting
With the visit of Rahul Gandhi, Congress is making big preparations to corner the state government. On January 17 itself, Congress will observe a ‘mass fast’ across Madhya Pradesh. In every block of the state, workers and leaders will sit in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and stage a dharna and sing hymns. This protest of Congress is not only against the Indore watershed, but is also against the decision of the Central Government to change the name of the MNREGA scheme. Tributes will also be paid to the dead during this period in Indore.
Indore water crisis: 23 dead so far, questions raised on administration
The number of deaths due to drinking contaminated water in Indore has increased to 23. MP Congress is already adopting an aggressive stance on this serious issue. Recently, on January 11, Congress had taken out ‘Nyaya Yatra’ in Indore, in which veteran leaders like Jitu Patwari, Digvijay Singh and Umang Singhar participated. Congress alleges that despite repeated complaints of the people, the administration continued to sleep in ‘Kumbhakarni sleep’, the result of which is in front of everyone today.
