Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper inaugural train schedule released, can travel 6 days a week
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: A big and historic gift for the railway passengers of North-East India is going to hit the tracks soon. After a long wait, the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train is going to get the green signal, which will run on the Howrah-Guwahati route. This new semi-high speed train will not only reduce the travel time, but will also turn night travel into a more comfortable and modern experience.
Railway Ministry has approved 27576/27575 Kamakhya-Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express. This train will run six days a week. With its commencement, connectivity between West Bengal and North-Eastern states will be strengthened and trade, tourism and regional economy will also get a boost.

This state-of-the-art train has been developed by BEML in collaboration with ICF technology. Vande Bharat Sleeper train has been designed for a maximum speed of 180 kmph. Equipped with sleeper coaches, this train has been specially designed keeping in mind the long distance night journey, so that the passengers can get a fast, safe and comfortable journey.

Before the start of the new service, Railways is going to run an inaugural special train.

- Date: 17 January 2026 (Saturday)
- Departure: 1:00 pm from Malda Town
- Vande Bharat Sleeper Rake with 16 coaches
According to the Railways, this inaugural special train will reach Kamakhya as per the schedule with stoppages at different stations. After this, regular service will be started on Howrah-Kamakhya-Howrah route. The detailed timings and stoppage details of the inaugural special train are as follows:
