Share Market: The campaign guns for the municipal elections have now cooled down. Tomorrow, January 15, there is voting in the state. Voting for Mumbai Municipal Corporation will also be held tomorrow.

The Maharashtra state government has already declared a public holiday in several parts of Mumbai in view of the polling for the municipal elections.

The state government has declared a holiday in 29 municipal jurisdictions of the state. Many government offices and banks in the state will remain closed tomorrow.

The stock market will be closed!

The stock exchange has informed that the stock market will be completely closed tomorrow. Initially, the market was said to be partially open.

In the initial phase, NSE and BSE informed that the day would be a settlement holiday only, trading would continue as usual.

But later a revised circular was issued. As per this circular, tomorrow 15 January 2026 has been declared as a complete trading holiday in view of the Mumbai Municipal Elections. Of course, the stock market will be completely closed tomorrow.

All segments including Capital Markets, Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives and Interest Rate Derivatives have been declared a holiday tomorrow.

It has also been informed that the Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) facility will also remain closed tomorrow. Banks will also remain closed in Mumbai tomorrow.
