Meeting of ‘Pradosh’ and ‘Shivratri’
When Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha falls at the time of sunset and Chaturdashi Tithi falls on the same night, then it is considered a wonderful coincidence of Shivratri with ‘Shani Pradosh’ or ‘Bhaum Pradosh’. Pradosh Vrat is also observed just a day before Mahashivratri which comes once a year. It is considered as fruitful as ‘Mahapradosh’ as it is the eve of the biggest Shivratri of the year.
Pradosh period is considered to be approximately 45 minutes before and 45 minutes after sunset. It is believed that at this time Mahadev dances in a happy posture on Mount Kailash. Nishita Kaal means the time of midnight when the main worship of Shivratri takes place. This time is considered to be at the highest level of cosmic energy.
