BBL: The performance of Pakistani players in the current season of Big Bash League 2025-26 remains a topic of discussion, but unfortunately this discussion is more about the controversies and mistakes made by them than their game. The last 48 hours have been very difficult for Pakistani players. While on one hand, experienced batsman Rizwan was recalled from the middle of the innings due to his slow batting, fast bowler Hasan Ali has come under the target of trolls for his fielding.

Hasan Ali’s bad fielding
In the match between Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers on Tuesday, Hasan Ali made a mistake which spoiled the fun of the match. Melbourne Stars were chasing the target of only 84 runs. When Tabrez Shamsi was bowling in the 8th over, a ball went towards cover.
Hasan Ali ran fast to stop the ball, but he completely failed to guess the speed and direction of the ball. The ball passed his hands and crossed the boundary. The video of this ‘missed fielding’ is going viral on social media, where fans are raising questions on his fitness and concentration.

First ‘retired out’ foreign player in BBL history
Just a day before this, on Monday, a rare incident was seen in the match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades. Mohammad Rizwan was able to score only 26 runs on 23 balls.
Renegades captain Will Sutherland took a strategic decision and ‘retired out’ Rizwan and called him back so that an aggressive batsman could come to the crease. Rizwan has become the first foreign player to be out like this in the history of BBL.
