‘New Hathras’ will be developed near Yamuna Expressway, master plan will be ready in nine months

Master Plan-2041 will be prepared to develop Hathras Urban Centre, i.e. New Hathras, in about 4,000 hectares of land near Yamuna Expressway. For this, a company has been selected, which will prepare this master plan in the next nine months. An official of Yamuna Authority said that under the RFP issued for Hathras Urban Centre, three companies were found eligible in the technical bid. These include Telangana-based RV Engineering Consultants Limited, Guruda UAV Solutions Private Limited and LEA Associates South Asia Private Limited.

Recently the financial bids were opened, in which RV Engineering Consultants Limited, which had the lowest bid of Rs 1.24 crore, was selected. This company will prepare a 20-year development plan in the next nine months keeping in mind the overall development of Hathras under the Master Plan-2041.

Master Plan Master Plan-2041 will be prepared as per URDPFI Guidelines 2014, Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act 1976, and other relevant rules of the State and Central Government. The plan will be based on GIS technology and will take into account aspects such as industrial development, population estimation, infrastructure, natural resources and environmental balance.

Industrial and business center

Historically, Hathras has been a major industrial and trading center during the British period. However, over time its importance declined due to lack of infrastructure and facilities. According to a survey report, currently MSME (Small, Micro and Medium Industries) and cottage industries are present in Hathras district. There are about 10,293 industries registered in the district, out of which most of the industries are developed in the form of clusters.

Hosiery and textile industry: 1,600

Handicraft Industry: 850

Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing: 30

Pickle Industry: 16

Bottling Plants and Dairies: 3

better connectivity

The notified area of ​​the authority includes 358 villages of Hathras. At present the road connectivity of Hathras is better than Aligarh and Agra. The new city has connections to SH-33 via NH-93 and Yamuna Expressway. Furthermore, two rail lines meet at Hathras (Junction).

However, there are also some weaknesses:

Lack of internal roads, no adequate electricity and water supply, incomplete sewerage system, inadequacy of health services, lack of recreational and social facilities, these shortcomings are the major areas to be addressed in the development of New Hathras.
