Lucknow. A major accident was averted on Thursday on the occasion of BSP Chief Mayawati’s 70th birthday in Lucknow, the capital of UP. A sudden short circuit occurred during the press conference of Mayawati. Along with the spark, smoke started coming out from the electrical board. The incident happened when Mayawati’s press conference was about to end. Within no time the entire hall was filled with smoke. This created a stir among the journalists and leaders present there.

As soon as a short circuit occurred in the press conference hall, sparks started coming out from the electrical board and a cloud of smoke spread. However, the security personnel deployed to protect Mayawati showed amazing agility. Sensing the danger, the security cordon immediately took former Chief Minister Mayawati out of the hall safely and took her towards her residence.

As soon as information about short circuit was received, the security team and electricity workers present at the spot took charge. Without wasting any time, the security personnel used the fire extinguishers kept there. Due to this the fire was controlled before it spread. It is fortunate that no one was injured in this incident, but there was an atmosphere of chaos for some time.
In view of the security of the BSP Chief, questions are being raised on such technical flaws. This short circuit, which happened amid the big birthday celebration and huge gathering of media, has increased the vigilance regarding security arrangements. At present the situation is completely under control and the technical team is investigating the circuit.
