Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann appears before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, summoned in connection with Guru’s Golak comment case.
New Delhi. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today appeared before the supreme body of Sikhs, Shri Akal Takht Sahib. The Jathedar of Akal Takht had summoned the CM to give clarification regarding his comment on Guru Ki Golak. CM Mann met Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh and gave clarification on his earlier statements. The Chief Minister clarified that he has no intention of challenging Shri Akal Takht and termed the video going viral on social media as fake. Mann said that I have appeared before Shri Akal Takht as a humble Sikh and devotee. I have submitted some documents and the Jathedar has also handed me the Sikh Rahat Maryada book, which I will follow.

After this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in the press conference that some mischievous elements are trying to spread the word on social media that I am challenging Sri Akal Takht Sahib, neither do I have the courage nor the status to challenge Sri Akal Takht Sahib. I have given my explanation to the Jathedar and also asked to get that video tested in any lab. He said that whatever decision the Jathedar takes will be valid.

Before appearing before the Akal Takht, CM Bhagwant Mann reached the Golden Temple barefoot and bowed his head there. After this, he went towards the Akal Takht Secretariat carrying the proof of his innocence in two black bags and then appeared before the Jathedar. Let us tell you that a video of CM Mann is going viral on social media in which he raised questions regarding the management and use of Golak. Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh had summoned the CM considering his statement as a violation of Sikh dignity and hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs.
