Story
The story of the film begins with a middle-class family living in Motihari, Bihar, where preparations are going on at home for their son’s engagement. Then suddenly the uncle of the family’s decision to get married shakes the whole system. Chacha is mentally unstable and this instability becomes the pivot of the film’s story. On the advice of the doctor, it is decided to take him to Ranchi, but this simple medical trip soon turns into a strange road trip. Along the way, colorful and quirky characters are added to the story that send the situation completely out of control: a suspended officer, an escaped convict, a dancer and an overzealous policeman. Amidst the humor, bullets are fired, vehicles overturn and the world of crime enters the story. Despite this, the film manages to make the audience laugh continuously with its innocence and cleverly woven world.
acting
Ashutosh Rana’s acting is the life of the film. He does not limit the character of uncle to mere comic elements, but fills it with human sensibilities. This is the reason why in many places compassion is also added to humor. The supporting cast also maintains the pace of the film. Abhimanyu Singh leaves an impact in the role of a local gangster. Anant Vijay Joshi (Sadda) has excellent comic timing. Harsh Mayar (Lappu), Chittaranjan Giri (Chaubey), Ashok Pathak (Stalin) and Hemal Ingle (Mishti) fit into their respective characters and take the story forward.
direction and tone
Directors Abhishek Raj Khemka and Rajneesh Thakur have created a clean, performance-driven comedy. A major part of the film is based on a car journey and its dialogues provide constant laughs. Love, laughter, pills, drugs, goons, bank robberies and madness, everything comes together to make it a twisted road-trip entertainer.
final take
‘One Two Cha Cha Cha’ is for those viewers who want to watch a light-hearted but smart comedy without too much brainstorming. This film provides good entertainment in the theater on the basis of its desi-ness, surprising performance and situational humor.
