Jodie Whittaker reveals the Doctor Who story she wants to continue
Jodie Whittaker has opened up about her time as the Doctor once again. And fans will love what she shared. The former Thirteenth Doctor revealed which Doctor Who story she wants to revisit. She also named the villain she always wished she had faced.
Whittaker played the Doctor from 2018 to 2022. She is now back in the role through Big Finish audio dramas. The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures began releasing new episodes in July 2025. The stories sit between seasons 12 and 13 of the TV show.
Jodie Whittaker wants a Pting sequel
When asked about a sequel idea, Whittaker did not hesitate. She said she would love to bring back the Pting. The creature first appeared in season 11 episode The Tsuranga Conundrum. It looked cute. But it caused chaos. Especially to anything made of metal.
She joked about wanting to track the Pting down again. She said they were adorable but also very annoying. In her words, she wants to see how much more destruction they could cause across space. Many fans remember the Pting as one of the most unusual Doctor Who monsters.
Jodie Whittaker on facing The Master and Missy
Whittaker also spoke about villains she wished she had faced. She said she loves The Master. She praised Sacha Dhawan’s performance and called him incredible. But there was another version she really wanted to meet.
She said going head to head with Missy would have been epic. Missy was played by Michelle Gomez during Peter Capaldi’s era. Fans have long imagined how Missy and the Thirteenth Doctor might have clashed. Now Whittaker has confirmed she wanted that too.
Meanwhile, the latest Big Finish episode Ride or Die is now out. It was released on 13 January. The story is written by Rochana Patel. It follows the Doctor racing to save Yaz. Mandip Gill returns as Yasmin Khan. The plot involves strange disappearances across time and space. The trail leads to a war torn world. A terrifying Banshee stands in the way. And the Doctor must act fast to save her best friend.
