Why was there so much controversy?
Nazmul is accused of making derogatory statements regarding the contribution and remuneration of players. Nazmul raised questions on the trip to Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in India next month.

He dismissed concerns over players’ remuneration in the event of the country’s possible withdrawal, saying the players would not be compensated as they have not yet justified their support. This statement enraged the players and the cricket community.
