Constantly active in the world of modeling, Preet Dutta has proved that she is not just a pretty face but a strong and confident artist with her presence in print, calendar and magazine shoots. Preet, who has made her mark not only at the national but also at the international level, now wants to give a wider platform to her skills through acting. His first Bengali film is going to be released soon, the shooting of which is almost completed and the post-production work is currently going on. Along with this, Preet is also ready to enter Bollywood and wants to start her new journey through films, short films and web series.
His inclination towards acting had its roots in his childhood itself. Coming from a Kolkata background, Preet’s grandfather had worked as an editor in the films of great filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The technical intricacies of films, dubbing and experiences of small scenes gradually attracted him towards acting. Although, initially the family was apprehensive about this path, but when Preet made it to the top five in modeling and her name and pictures were published in reputed newspapers, their faith in her skills was strengthened.
In terms of acting, Preet Dutta is deeply influenced by actress Sushmita Sen. His dream is to work in the films of directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar and Aditya Dhar. She is especially attracted to powerful roles with gray shades. The characters of Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom and Kangana Ranaut in Fashion inspire her deeply — and Preet believes she can prove herself with her unique style and emotional depth in such challenging roles.
Preet Dutta, who has been honored with the title of ‘Queen of Bengal’, is today an example of self-reliance, courage and independent thinking. His message to the youth is equally powerful—believe in yourself, don’t take decisions under pressure and pursue your dreams with self-respect.
