BMC Exit Poll: BJP led Mahayuti is expected to get a clear majority

Mumbai, 15 January. According to the data released by the State Election Commissioner after the voting conducted on Thursday for 29 Municipal Corporations of Maharashtra, there has been 45 to 50 percent voting in the state. At the same time, after voting, the results of exit polls conducted by different survey agencies have also come out.

This exit poll focuses on Mumbai’s BMC elections because all eyes are on the results of Asia’s richest municipal corporation (BMC). Exit polls suggest that the Mumbai-led alliance will get a clear majority. If the exit poll results are true then Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) faction will be out of BMC after 27 years.

According to Axis My India exit poll, BJP+ 13-151 seats

According to the Axis-My India exit poll, the BJP-led alliance in Mumbai is expected to get 131 to 151 seats while Shiv Sena (UBT) may get 58 to 68 seats. Congress is expected to get 12 to 16 seats. The majority figure in BMC with 227 members is 114. It is estimated that BJP will get maximum 28 percent votes. After that Shiv Sena (UBT) will get 24 percent votes. Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena is lagging behind in total vote share.

The Axis My India exit poll is based on a sample size of 22,758 people. Among key civic issues, 31% voters cited drainage as their main concern, followed by sanitation at 20% and drinking water shortage at 18%. There seemed to be a gap between voters’ priorities and the issues raised by the major parties, which mostly focused on identity and regional politics. Exit poll data shows that civic issues mattered most to voters.

JVC in exit poll BMC Mahayuti is projected to gain lead in the wards.

According to the JVC exit poll, Mahayuti is expected to win 138 wards while the Thackeray-led alliance is expected to get 59 wards. Congress is expected to win 23 wards, while the remaining seven wards will go to other parties. Apart from Axis-My India and JVC, surveys conducted by Sakal Group also point to a strong performance for the ruling coalition.

Apart from Mumbai, the municipal corporations where elections are being held include Thane, Navi Mumbai, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan-Dombivli, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar, Panvel, Nashik, Malegaon, Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded-Waghala, Parbhani, Jalna, Latur, Amravati, Akola, Nagpur and Chandrapur are included.
