Chief Minister Mann reached Akal Takht barefoot, said – accepted every order wholeheartedly.

Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today bowed as a humble Sikh before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest religious institution of the Sikhs. The Chief Minister reached Akal Takht barefoot and offered prayers and dedicated the entire day to this holy throne. After this, he appeared before Jathedar Sahib at Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat and gave a detailed explanation regarding his earlier statements.

Answered all questions raised

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann clarified that he has full faith in the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and wholeheartedly accepts every decision taken by it. He said that there is no question of challenging the dignity, authority and respect of this sacred institution. Talking to journalists after appearing at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said that on the orders of Jathedar Sahib, he personally appeared and answered all the questions raised.

The Chief Minister said that his statement has been recorded and further proceedings will be decided after discussions with the Singh Sahibans. He also said that he got deep solace and inner peace after appearing at Akal Takht.

An attempt is being made to spread confusion

Rejecting talks of alleged conflict, the Chief Minister said that some people were deliberately trying to spread confusion, whereas the truth is that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the supreme institution of the Sikh community and is paramount for them too. He said that his government is working only for the progress of Punjab and the welfare of Punjabis.

Complaints of 25 to 30 thousand pages were submitted

The Chief Minister said that he has handed over 25 to 30 thousand pages of complaints to Jathedar Sahib, which reflect the public sentiments related to the functioning of the Shiromani Committee. He requested that these complaints should be investigated.

Every action will be within limits

On the SIT formed to investigate the missing bodies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Chief Minister said that its objective is only to locate the holy bodies and not any kind of politics. He assured that every action will be taken as per Sikh dignity.
