Electronics Sector In India: Indian electronic products are now increasingly being liked not only in the country but also abroad. Its direct effect is visible in the country’s export figures. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, India’s electronic exports have crossed the Rs 4 lakh crore mark in 2025. This achievement has come at a time when competition in the global market is continuously increasing. The biggest reason for this record increase is believed to be the tremendous growth in mobile phone manufacturing, especially Apple’s iPhone exports, and the government’s favorable policies.
Mobile and iPhone become the backbone of exports
Statistics show that iPhone exports from India are set to reach Rs 2.03 lakh crore in 2025, which is almost double the figure of Rs 1.1 lakh crore in 2024. Not only this, one out of every four smartphones manufactured in the country is now being exported abroad.
According to India Cellular and Electronics Association, exports of mobile phones alone could reach Rs 2.7 lakh crore by the end of the current financial year. This is a sign that India is gradually becoming a global manufacturing hub.

Talking about the future, the semiconductor revolution can give a new impetus to India’s electronic exports. Four new semiconductor plants are going to start commercial production in the year 2026, which will reduce dependence on imports and further increase export potential.

iPhone exports from India have registered a growth of almost 100% year-on-year. Apple still maintains its strong hold in the premium and super-premium smartphone segment, which is further strengthening India’s reputation in the global market.
