Rishabh Tandon’s death leaves widow in legal battle with family
The sudden death of Rishabh Tandon, a well-known figure in the Indian music industry, left his family and fans grappling with grief and shock.
Known for his contributions to music, Rishabh was also an actor and was known as “Fakir”. However, when the lights dimmed on his life his widow, Olesya Nedobegova, found herself thrust into a darker world.
As she struggled to steady her life in the wake of his death, Olesya revealed her late husband’s family particularly his mother and sister bombarded her with legal battles, accusations, and questions surrounding her faith and religion.
On Monday, December 29, Olesya took to her Instagram to open up about her worsening financial conditions and housing issues more than two months after her husband passed away on October 22.
“After my husband’s passing, I am currently facing a situation involving housing instability and restricted access to financial resources,” she wrote that time, clarifying, “This is not a post of accusation. This is a statement of fact.”
“I am committed to resolving everything lawfully, transparently, and with dignity. I will be sharing only verified information and cooperating with the appropriate authorities and media when required,” she explained.
Her statement raised difficult but important questions about how widows are treated after the death of a public figure, and how easily stability, rights, and dignity can be challenged in moments of loss, following which Hungama reached out to her.
In a conversation with the outlet Olesya cleared the air about her marriage with Rishabh, saying, “(I) found myself in an extremely difficult and emotionally traumatic situation. We had solemnized our marriage according to Hindu tradition, and I was always his legal wife.”
“After his death, my mother-in-law, Archana Tandon, began misleading people, claiming that our marriage was over and annulled, and that I was ‘nobody’ and ‘trash,’” causing her mental trauma in addition to battling with his husband’s loss.
Following this incident, she claimed to be subjected to physical violence and “was hit in the face.”
Furthermore, she was denied the right to personally participate in her husband’s last rites and exercise any rights as the “Mukhy Karta.”
Freezing her bank accounts wasn’t enough that her mother-in-law and husband’s sister, Sargam Tandon, opened her personal suitcases and confiscated personal jewellery, worth approximately ₹3 crore (approximately ₹3 crore) that Rishabh had given her during his lifetime.

She also made this information public by sharing it on her official Instagram on Friday, January 2.
Adding more to her ongoing tamil, Olesya accused the hospital for not being co-operative enough.
“Max Hospital, Noida, the clinic where I personally delivered my husband, has still not provided me with the death certificate and other legal documents,” she told Hungama.
According to her, the clinic’s video recording clearly shows that she personally delivered her husband, the medical documents later listed another person’s name.
“Currently, I, Olesia Tandon, am experiencing deep emotional and mental stress. I have previously experienced domestic violence, and these incidents have only made them more traumatic for me,” she said. “I demand protection of my rights as a wife, widow, and human being, justice, and a transparent investigation.”
Her latest Instagram Post reflects on domestic violence and the importance of speaking out.
For the unversed, Rishabh tragically passed away due to a sudden heart attack in Delhi.
