Leopard wandering from Bengal reached Bihar, injured a laborer, villagers kept guard
Sanjay Singh, Patna. A stray leopard from Bengal has reached Seemanchal in Bihar. People of many villages of Thakurganj block are in panic due to leopard. The leopard injured a laborer working in a pineapple plantation. Seeing the leopard, many workers started running here and there. Among the workers who were running away in panic, two workers fell and got injured. Leopard menace has now become a topic of discussion not only in Seemanchal but in entire Bihar.
The leopard which came from Bengal has been roaming in different areas of Seemanchal for 15 days. Villagers say that the forest department and police officials were already informed about the arrival of the leopard. The forest department did not take action until the leopard injured a person. Frightened villagers have started keeping vigil at night. The Forest Department does not have the necessary arrangements to control the leopard, due to which questions are being raised on the Forest Department as well.

Leopard came from Bengal
Forest Department officials say that this area of Seemanchal is adjacent to the forests of West Bengal. This leopard has strayed from these forests. This leopard had injured Ejajul, a laborer working in the fields in Patharia Panchayat of Thakurganj block. He somehow managed to save his life. Other laborers working in nearby fields managed to escape.
When the leopard reached the field and the villagers got information about it, hundreds of villagers reached there with traditional weapons. This area is known for the cultivation of tea and pineapple. The leopard hid after seeing the huge crowd of people. Local people suspect that he may be hiding in the tea garden itself. Even today forest department officials and villagers have spotted the leopard.

Villagers told the solution to avoid leopard
Forest department officials are fully alert to ensure that there is no loss of life or property due to leopard. Villagers have been prohibited from going to the fields alone. It is also prohibited to leave the house wearing red clothes. Officials say the red cloth attracts leopards.

Departmental officials have told the villagers not to let their small children go out of the house unnecessarily. Do not keep your cattle tied. There is no need to be afraid of leopard. Officials told people to raise their voice if anyone sees a leopard.
What did the officer say?
Forest department officials say that forest guards Abhitabh Saurabh and Bablu Kumar have been given the responsibility of keeping an eye on the leopard. A cage is being ordered from Purnia to catch the leopard. Drone cameras are also being used to keep an eye on his activities. It is hoped that the leopard will be controlled soon. However, villagers have been advised to remain alert until the leopard is controlled.
