Anti-government storm in Iran, violent demonstrations in many cities and communication system disrupted, 2000 people dead so far

Dubai. The death toll in the crackdown against protesters in Iran has risen to 2,571. An American human rights organization gave this information on Wednesday. America’s human rights organization ‘Human Rights Activist News Agency’ has given these figures. The agency has been known to provide accurate information during violent incidents in recent years and verifies information through its supporters in Iran.

The organization said that among the dead, 2,403 were protesters and 147 were government workers. The organization said that those killed included 12 children and nine civilians who were not involved in the protests. The organization said that more than 18,000 people have been detained.

Internet is down due to protests in Iran, making it difficult to accurately assess the situation. The Associated Press (AP) could not independently confirm the death toll. The Iranian government has also not provided information on the number of casualties. This number of people killed during the demonstrations is more than the number of people killed in demonstrations now in Iran.

Starlink is providing free internet in Iran

Satellite internet service provider Starlink is now providing free internet service in Iran. Activists of America’s human rights organization gave this information on Wednesday. Mehdi Yahanejad, an activist based in Los Angeles, told the ‘Associated Press’ (AP) that free internet service has started. Other workers also confirmed through online messages that the service is free.

Other means of service communication closed

“We can confirm that Starlink’s free service is fully functional,” Yahyanejad said in a statement. We tested it using a recently activated Starlink terminal inside Iran. Starlink has been the only way for Iranians to communicate with the outside world since authorities shut down the Internet last Thursday night as nationwide protests escalated and a violent crackdown against protesters began. However, Starlink did not confirm the commencement of services.

Our staff in Iran are safe, all have been traced: UN

UN officials have said that more than 500 UN staff in Iran are safe and all have been traced. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters on Tuesday that many staff were working from home due to the unrest across the country and the deaths of hundreds of protesters. The UN team in Iran consists of 46 foreign and 448 local staff.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and former Speaker of the Parliament, Ali Larjiani, while reacting to Trump’s latest threat to interfere in violent protests in the country, said on Tuesday that America and Israel will be responsible for the deaths of Iranian citizens. Meanwhile, Russia’s Foreign Ministry described the US threat to attack Iran as “categorically unacceptable”.

The ministry warned in a statement on Tuesday that any such attack would have “catastrophic” consequences for West Asia and global security. The ministry described the US announcement of increasing trade tariffs on those doing business with Iran as an attempt to ‘blackmail’. The statement said that protests are taking place in Iran due to social and economic problems arising as a result of sanctions imposed by Western countries.

Britain will bring law to impose sanctions against Iran

Britain will introduce legislation to impose ‘sanctions and regional measures’ against Iran. “Further measures will target finance, energy, transport, software and other critical industries,” Foreign Minister Secretary Yvette Cooper said, speaking in the House of Commons, the lower house of parliament.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned the ambassadors of Britain, Germany, France and Italy to support the protests taking place in Iran, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported. During the meeting, Iranian officials showed ambassadors ‘video evidence of violent actions carried out by the rioters’ and said the crackdown went beyond peaceful demonstrations. It is noteworthy that protests started across Iran at the end of last month.
