Gorakhpur: On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, a scene was seen in Gorakhnath temple of Gorakhpur on Thursday morning, which brought a smile on everyone’s face. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was meeting devotees after worship, when his conversation with a small child made the atmosphere very emotional and happy.

When the Chief Minister affectionately asked the child what he wanted, the child whispered “chips” in his ear. On hearing this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath burst out laughing and the people present in the temple premises also smiled. This video is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

At around 4 am on Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered Khichdi to Guru Gorakhnath in the Gorakhnath temple as per the rituals. After this he met the devotees present in the temple premises.

During this time, he called a small child near him and lovingly caressed his head. Then he asked casually what he wanted. The child remained silent at first, but on repeated questioning he whispered something in the Chief Minister’s ear.

When it became clear that the child had asked for “chips”, Yogi Adityanath laughed and immediately ordered chips for the child and gave them to him.

The innocence of the child and the spontaneous reaction of the Chief Minister made the entire atmosphere emotional. Seeing his laughter, devotees and security personnel also smiled. This scene became even more special on the morning of Makar Sankranti.

After the puja, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while talking to the media,"It is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to offer the sacred pot of faith to Lord Gorakhnath after the special puja of Gorakhnath temple at four in the morning."

He also wished Makar Sankranti to the people of the state, saints and devotees.

Spiritual significance of Makar Sankranti

The Chief Minister said that Makar Sankranti is an important festival of Sanatan tradition. He told that the entry of Sun from Sagittarius into Capricorn is called Makar Sankranti and from this day the Sun becomes Uttarayan.

He said that Uttarayan period is a symbol of energy, life and positivity and this time is considered very favorable for auspicious works.

Welcomed the devotees coming from all over the country and the world

CM Yogi said that a huge crowd of devotees has gathered in both Gorakhpur and Prayagraj. At the Sangam in Prayagraj, Kalpavasi and saints are engrossed in meditation and devotees are earning virtue by taking a dip in the confluence of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati.

He said that such festivals unite the society and give the message of positivity.
