UP News: A big relief news has emerged for lakhs of people living in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The biggest hurdle of the bridge under construction at Harauni Railway Crossing located near Harauni Railway Station on Bani-Mohan Road has now been removed. The work of placing the span girder over the railway track has been started, due to which the unfulfilled dream of the bridge is going to be fulfilled soon.

More than 5 lakh people benefited from the opening of the bridge

With the commissioning of this bridge, more than five lakh people in the surrounding area will get direct benefits. At present, when the railway crossing is closed, people have to cover an additional distance of about six kilometers, which wastes both time and fuel. After the opening of the bridge, people will get relief from this problem and transportation will become easier.

The structure on both sides of the bridge was ready in September itself.

The construction work of the bridge at Harauni railway crossing is being done by Uttar Pradesh Setu Nigam. The structure on both sides of the bridge was ready in the month of September itself. According to the plan, the bridge was to be completed by December 2025, but the blocks were not available from the Railways to keep the 63.40 meter long span girder above the railway track. This was the reason why the work remained stuck for a long time.

Span girder launching work started

After continuous efforts, now Railways has approved to give a block of two hours each in two shifts every day for 17 days. As soon as the block was received, the department started the work of launching the span girder. The department claims that this work will be completed by the end of January and both parts of the bridge will be connected.

Other finishing works will be completed in February

After this, pitching of the bridge road, installation of street lights and other finishing works will be completed in the month of February. The Bridge Corporation says that the bridge will be opened to the general public by March 2026. As soon as the bridge is inaugurated, the people of Harauni and surrounding areas will get great relief from the problems of jam and long distances.
