Earlier, the youngest Indian debutant at the U19 global competition was Kumar Kushagra, who played a game against Sri Lanka in 2020, when he was 15 years and 88 days old.
India sealed a six-wicket victory over the United States of America, with 178 balls to spare. Henil Patel was the top performer for the Boys in Blue, taking five wickets. The 18-year-old conceded just 16 runs from 8 overs.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Deepesh Devendran, Khilan Patel, and RS Ambrish dismissed one batter each. India’s target was reduced to 96 runs in 37 overs after the match was stopped due to a downpour.
