India played their first match against the USA in the ongoing U19 World Cup. They registered a six-wicket win in a game impacted by rain. All eyes were on Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was playing his first game in an ICC tournament. While he has been scripting new records in every match, the young batter managed just 2 runs from 4 balls. Vaibhav Suryavanshi debuted in the U19 World Cup at the age of 14 years and 294 days. He is the first Indian to play a World Cup match before turning 15. Earlier, the youngest Indian debutant at the U19 global competition was Kumar Kushagra, who played a game against Sri Lanka in 2020, when he was 15 years and 88 days old.

India sealed a six-wicket victory over the United States of America, with 178 balls to spare. Henil Patel was the top performer for the Boys in Blue, taking five wickets. The 18-year-old conceded just 16 runs from 8 overs.
