Cold wave continues to hit Delhi-NCR. The coldest morning of this season was recorded in the capital on Friday morning. The minimum temperature dropped below 3 degrees. People of Delhi have been facing cold wave for the last several days. Due to this the temperature remains below normal. Here, melting along with cold has increased the difficulties of the people. Yellow alert of cold wave has been issued in Delhi today.
Weather condition in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to be clear in Delhi on Friday. Yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in the morning. Along with this, cold wave conditions persist. However, the fog is also going to disappear as the day progresses. The sun will shine in the afternoon. There is a possibility of cloud cover in the evening. Today the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 22 degrees. The minimum temperature will be around 5 degrees Celsius.
Minimum temperature in areas of Delhi
The minimum temperature in Delhi area was 2.9 degrees in Safdarjung. It was 2.3 degrees in Palam. It was 2.7 degrees in Ayanagar, 3.4 degrees in Lodhi Road and 3.5 degrees in Ridge.

The effect of cold wave was visible in Delhi a day earlier on Thursday morning. Visibility was affected in many areas due to fog. During this period there was cold wave conditions in the city. Due to cold winds, there was a lot of chill in the morning due to severe cold. The minimum temperature also dropped to 2.9 degrees Celsius. However, there was good sunshine during the day. This provided relief from the cold. But as the day approached, the cold and chilly winds again made one feel shivering.
Palam is the coldest in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature recorded in Delhi since January 2023 was 2.9 degrees Celsius. Earlier on January 16, 2023, the mercury reached 1.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded in Palam on Thursday was 2.3 degrees Celsius. Palam recorded the lowest temperature since 2010. This is the second time this has happened here. Earlier, the lowest temperature recorded was 2.6 degrees Celsius on January 7, 2013.
