Havoc on Hindus in Bangladesh: Sweet shop owner brutally murdered, hit on the head with a shovel!
The incidents of targeting of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh are not stopping. The latest case has come to light from Ghazipur district, where a Hindu sweets businessman was beaten to death with a shovel. 55-year-old Liton Chandra Ghosh, known locally as ‘Kali’, lost his life just because he tried to save an innocent employee of his shop from the attackers.
Minor argument and then bloody game
This heart-wrenching incident took place around 11 am on Saturday morning at Liton Ghosh’s shop ‘Baisakhi Sweetmeat and Hotel’ located on Baranagar Road. Eyewitnesses said that the dispute started when a 28-year-old youth named Masoom Mian came to the shop. There he had an altercation with Anant Das, a 17-year-old employee of his shop, over some trivial matter. Within no time this argument turned into a violent clash.
The surprising thing was that within some time Masoom Mian’s parents, Mohammad Swapan Mian and Majeda Khatoon also reached the spot. These people together attacked teenage employee Anant Das.
Deadly attack on the owner who came to save the employee
When shop owner Liton Chandra Ghosh saw that his employee was being beaten badly, he came to intervene. He tried to calm the situation, but the attackers pounced on him. Meanwhile, the attackers hit Liton hard on the head with a shovel. The blow was so fatal that Liton Ghosh died on the spot.
There was anger among the local people after the incident. The mob caught the three accused – Masoom Mian, his father Swapan Mian and mother Majeda Khatoon – who were trying to escape and handed them over to the police. Police have currently taken possession of the body and have started investigation.
