Many films became superhits from one scene of Kumbh Mela!

Magh Mela is in its full glory in Prayagraj. A large number of devotees are taking a dip of faith in the Sangam. Kumbh, Mahakumbh and Magh Mela are a precious part of Indian culture, whose glimpse has been captured in many Bollywood films. Kumbh Mela has an old association with Hindi cinema, where emotional stories of the crowd of the fair, the faith, the splendor of sages and saints and especially the separation and reunion of children or siblings have been shown time and again.

These scenes not only bring alive the divinity and human emotions of the fair, but the scenes related to the fair were also superhit. The list of these films is quite long. These include films like Takdeer, Kumbh Ki Kasam and Adhikar.

Takdeer:- The film directed by Mehboob Khan was released in the year 1943, in which stars like Nargis, Motilal, Chandramohan, Charlie were in the lead roles. Light comedy revolves around the fair. In the story, Pappu and Shyama, children of two families, get lost in the crowd of the fair. Later they meet when they grow up and their true identities are revealed. The scene of the fair is at the beginning of the film, where the incident of separation of children takes place. This is considered to be the beginning of the theme of ‘Separated in Kumbh’.

Kumbh Mela:- This film was released in the year 1950. This film is directly based on the Kumbh Mela. It shows that people who come to the fair are in search of salvation, peace and solutions to personal problems. Their lives change during the fair. The film focuses on spirituality and human relationships. It has scenes of the splendor of the fair, the crowd and faith.

Adhikar:- The film directed by SM Yusuf was released in the year 1954. Artists like Usha Kiran, Kishore Kumar were in lead roles in the film. Kumbh Mela was made an important part of the story. The lead character Raghunath struggles between family, duty and justice, with the backdrop of the fair adding depth to his internal battle. The scenes of the fair are emotional and spiritual.

Kumbh Ki Kasam:- This film, directed by Tukaram Kate, was released in the year 1991. The story is related to the troubles and emotions of the Kumbh Mela. The film has action, emotions and twists, where fate and divine grace are shown in the fair. The story progresses from the fair scenes.

Dharmatma:- This is a 1975 film, in which Firoz Khan, Hema Malini and Rekha are in important roles. There is a memorable scene of the Kumbh Mela in the film, where the separation of Hema Malini and her family is shown. In that scene, there is a dialogue like ‘This fair is just a name, everyone has come here to bargain their fortune’. The crowd and faith of the fair has been depicted beautifully.
