India will play an important role in establishing peace in Gaza, President Trump sent invitation to join the board

New Delhi : Now a new international framework is being prepared to implement the second phase of the peace agreement in Gaza under the leadership of US President Donald Trump. In this sequence, a proposal to establish Gaza Peace Board has come forward. According to sources, a formal proposal has been sent by Washington to New Delhi to include India in this board, although there is no official confirmation on this from India or America yet.

Both India and Pakistan received invitation
According to reports, invitations have been sent to about 60 countries to join this peace board. These include India as well as Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan has confirmed this invitation. Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said that Islamabad has received the invitation from Washington and Pakistan will continue to participate in peace efforts related to Gaza.

International response so far limited
Most of the countries have currently maintained silence on this proposal. However, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni has openly supported it and said that Italy is ready to contribute to peace and reconstruction in Gaza. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has expressed support for this initiative in principle, but has said that talks will continue regarding formally joining the board.

What is Trump’s Gaza Peace Board?
According to the information, in the second phase of the Gaza Peace Plan, a special arrangement is being made for the reconstruction and administrative monitoring of the area. Gaza Peace Board has been formed to monitor this entire process, whose chairman will be President Donald Trump himself. Along with this, there is also a plan to set up a separate board to oversee the work at the local level in Gaza.

offer of permanent membership
The US Presidential Office said on social media platform X that it is proposing to grant permanent membership to partner countries that show a strong commitment to peace, security and prosperity. Through this board, the aim has been to bring long-term stability in Gaza.

UN recognition and controversy
It is noteworthy that after the peace agreement in Gaza, this board has received recognition from the United Nations Security Council in November 2025. However, at that time Russia and China had maintained distance from it. Both countries had objected saying that the role of the United Nations has not been clearly defined in the Gaza peace proposal. Initially the tenure of this board was fixed till 2027.

The scope may extend to Ukraine
According to the reports now emerging, President Trump is also considering using this Peace Board model for establishing peace in the Ukraine crisis in the future. Many European countries have expressed concern about this possible expansion and discussions regarding it are ongoing at the diplomatic level.
