VHT Final: Vidarbha created history by defeating Saurashtra in the final, 25 year old player became the real hero
Vidarbha Beat Saurashtra VHT Final: The final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 was played between Vidarbha and Saurashtra on 18 January at the Central of Excellence ground in Bengaluru. In the final match, Saurashtra defeated Vidarbha and captured the title. Batting first in this match, Vidarbha scored 317 runs. On behalf of Vidarbha, the 25 year old player played a century and gave water to Saurashtra.
Vidarbha also made it to the finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy last season. But Karnataka dashed Vidarbha’s hopes by winning the match by 36 runs. But this season the team came back strongly and captured the title. Vidarbha has captured the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time.
25 year old player becomes real hero
For Vidarbha, 25 year old opener Atharva Tayde played a century innings. He played a brilliant inning of 128 runs in 118 balls, which included 15 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Aman Mokhade also played an inning of 33 runs in 45 balls. While Yash Rathore scored 54 runs in 61 balls. In this way Vidarbha had scored 317/8 runs in 50 overs. Ankur Pawar took 4 wickets for Saurashtra. Whereas, Chirag Jani and Chetan Sakariya got 2 successes.

Saurashtra all out for 279 runs
Chasing the target, Saurashtra was reduced to 279 runs in 48.5 overs. Prerak Mankad scored the most runs for Saurashtra. He played an innings of 88 runs in 92 balls. Apart from this, Chirag Jani scored 64 runs in 63 balls. In this way Vidarbha won by 38 runs. For Vidarbha, Yash Thakur took 4 wickets and Nachiket Bhute took 3 wickets.
