Announcement of private bank, 7.50% return will be available on 500 days FD, change in interest rates

City Union Bank is one of the leading private sector banks. It has also been included in the list of banks changing the interest rates of fixed deposits (FD) in January 2026. After the amendment, callable FD is offering minimum 4% and maximum 7% returns to ordinary citizens.

Senior citizens are getting interest ranging from 4% to 7.25%. Super Senior Citizens (aged 80 years or above) are getting 7.50% interest. All banks keep changing interest rates from time to time. Therefore, before investing, it is advised to visit the nearest branch and official website of the bank.

The bank is offering 50 bps more interest to senior citizens on all FDs except Tax Saver FD. Investment can be made in this for 5 years. The interest rates for all are 6.75%. Super Senior Citizens are getting 5 bps more returns. However, only on special tenure of 500 days, 25 bps more returns are being given.

Highest interest being received on tenure of so many days

This private sector bank is offering the highest interest on the maturity slab of 500 days. The interest rates are 7% for general citizens, 7.25% for senior citizens and 7.50% for super senior citizens. Ordinary citizens are getting 6.80% returns on tenure ranging from 365 days to 499 days. Senior citizens are getting 5 basis points higher returns.

• 15 days to 45 days – 4.25%
• 46 days to 90 days – 4.75%
• 91 days to 180 days – 5.75%
• 181 days to 270 days – 6%
• 271 days to 364 days – 6.25%
• 365 days to 499 days – 6.80%
• 500 days- 7%
• From 501 days to 3 years – 6.50%
• Above 3 years and up to 10 years – 6.25%
• Tax Saver FD- 6.75%

Interest rate charged on non-callable FD

In callable FD, withdrawal of money is not allowed before maturity. Whereas in non-callable fixed deposits, premature withdrawal is also allowed. One to three crore rupees can be invested in this. Common citizens are getting returns ranging from 4% to 7.10% on this. The interest rate for senior citizens is maximum 7.30%.
