Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison introduced a surprise cast member in its first teaserrevealing a major new star alongside series leads Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The unexpected addition adds a new layer to the family drama as it nears its March premiere on Paramount+.
What happens in the first teaser of The Madison
In the first teaser for Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison, Michelle Pfeiffer’s character, Stacy Clyburn, grieves by the Madison River and says, “My center, my soul is gone.” The teaser also reveals Will Arnett as Dr. Phil Yorn, a New York City-based therapist who responds, “You will heal if you let yourself.” It features Kurt Russell as Stacy’s husband, Preston Clyburn, and shows him fishing while contemplating, “What do I have? Before I’m too old to do anything more than just remember.”
The Clyburn family relocates from New York City to the Madison River valley in central Montana following a personal tragedy. Pfeiffer’s character is seen saying, “I’ve decided to feed this,” pointing to her heart, and then, “and never factor this into the equation,” pointing to her head. These scenes depict the emotional transition and the setting shift from urban to rural life.
Paramount+ aired the teaser for The Madison during the Season 2 finale of Landman, another series by Taylor Sheridan. The six-episode first season of The Madison will premiere on March 14. The series follows a family drama and study of grief, unfolding between Montana and Manhattan. Producers have already completed a second season.
The main cast features Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Will Arnett, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Matthew Fox. Pfeiffer and Russell also serve as executive producers, alongside Taylor Sheridan and others.
Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions produce the show. The teaser reveals Arnett’s character for the first time, previously unannounced. Pfeiffer and Russell lead the cast in a story centered on the Clyburn family’s move and adjustment to rural Montana life after a major loss.
