Theft worth lakhs in Manoj Tiwari’s house in Mumbai, lock opened with duplicate key; Former employee arrested
A major incident of theft has come to light at the Mumbai residence of BJP MP from North Eastern seat of Delhi and famous actor Manoj Tiwari. The thief very cleverly cleaned the cupboard of the house by using duplicate keys. In this case, the police took immediate action and arrested an old employee of the MP.
The incident took place in a flat in Andheri West.
According to the police, this incident of theft took place in Sunderban Apartment located in Andheri West area of Mumbai. Manoj Tiwari’s manager Pramod Jogendra Pandey had lodged a complaint at Amboli police station. After receiving the complaint, the police, realizing the seriousness of the matter, started investigation and succeeded in reaching the accused.
5.40 lakh rupees spent in two installments
Investigation revealed that the thief committed the theft not in one go, but on two separate occasions. A total of Rs 5.40 lakh was stolen. The first theft took place in June 2025, when Rs 4.40 lakh went missing from the cupboard, but the thief could not be traced. After this, again Rs 1 lakh was stolen on the night of 15 January 2026.
Secret of bedroom revealed with duplicate key
The method of theft was very clever. The accused had duplicate keys of the main gate, bedroom and cupboard of the house. With the help of these keys, he easily entered the house and made away with the money. He had knowledge of every nook and corner of the house, which he took advantage of.
The fired employee turned out to be a thief
The name of the accused arrested by the police is Surendra Kumar Dinanath Sharma. He has been a former employee of Manoj Tiwari. It is being told that Surendra was fired from his job about two years ago. He committed this incident due to old rivalry or greed.
CCTV footage and police action
After the first theft, precautions were taken in the house and CCTV cameras were installed inside the house in December 2025. These cameras became the call for the accused. On January 15, at around 9 pm, he was caught on CCTV committing theft. On the basis of the footage, the police caught him and during interrogation he confessed to his crime.
