Naz Reid’s injury cuts a strong stretch short

Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid, who drew the start in place of Rudy Gobert, saw his night end early during Saturday’s loss in San Antonio.

The player was ruled out after just five minutes of action due to soreness in his left shoulder, the team announced on social media.

At this point, there’s no clear indication whether the injury will sideline Reid for additional games. The Timberwolves are expected to monitor how the shoulder responds before determining next steps.

The timing is unfortunate, as the 26-year-old had been in the middle of one of his strongest stretches of the season.

Over the four games before Saturday, Reid averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block while shooting efficiently across the board in just under 30 minutes per game.
