A mild intensity earthquake was felt in Delhi on Monday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), this earthquake occurred at around 8:44 am and its intensity was measured at 2.8. The epicenter of the earthquake was in North Delhi and it occurred at a depth of about 5 kilometers from the ground.
NCS told in detailed that the latitude of the earthquake was 28.86 North and longitude 77.06 East. There was no news of any loss of life or property due to this earthquake and it was considered mild.

Seismic history of Delhi
If we look at the seismic history of Delhi, the capital region is considered sensitive to earthquakes. Delhi falls in Zone IV of the seismically active region of the country, which is one level below the high category of severe earthquake. Its center was near Kapkot town, about 30 kilometers from Bageshwar district headquarters. Bageshwar District Disaster Management Officer Shikha Suyal said that there was no loss of life or property due to this earthquake. However, due to the tremors of the earthquake, local people were forced to come out of their homes.
