New Delhi . In India, the son-in-law’s first visit to his in-laws’ house is no less than a celebration. The entire family is engaged in taking care of the son-in-law. People make arrangements and welcome them as per their capacity. But sometimes this welcome crosses its limits. Same thing happened in a village in Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh. Here a family invited their son-in-law and daughter to their home on the festival of Makar Sankranti. Welcoming them in a traditional manner, all the preparations were done on such a grand scale that this family event became a topic of discussion in many nearby villages. Not only this, a video of this also went viral on social media.
A family in Adurr village in Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh welcomed their daughter Keerthishree and son-in-law Boddu Sai Sharath home for the first time. To welcome the daughter who was coming to her parents’ home for the first time, the family planned a very grand reception to make it memorable, which stood out due to its huge size.
According to information given online, the family prepared 1,374 types of food and sweets on this occasion. This huge feast reflects the rich food culture of the Godavari Delta, which is famous for its generous food and festive cuisine. Decorated boards with welcome messages were installed at the venue, adding a personal and emotional touch to the event. All these things clearly show how much effort was put in to make the couple feel special.
In the video being shared on social media site Instagram, the newly married couple is seen sitting together. Food is kept right in front of them. The camera pans slowly over the rows of neatly arranged dishes on the tables.
From biryani and burgers to fried snacks, buttermilk, fresh juices, sweets, fruits, home-made breakfasts and many more, it included dishes. Some special dishes were brought from different nearby areas.
Apart from the food, the family also gave 12 gifts to the son-in-law and daughter. These gifts symbolized the 12 months of the year and were given to wish the newlyweds happiness and prosperity in their married life.
