Australia announces T20 team for Pakistan tour, Jack Edwards and Mahali Beardman included in the team
Australia has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan, which will play three T20 International matches before the T20 World Cup. These matches will be held on 29, 31 January and 1 February. This series is being considered a part of the preparations for the T20 World Cup and some new faces have also been included in the team.
Glenn Maxwell out of the team
Cricket Australia has left out experienced players like Nathan Ellis and Glenn Maxwell in its team. At the same time, Mahali Beardman and Jack Edwards, who performed brilliantly in the Big Bash League (BBL), have been included in the team. There are 10 players in the team selected for the Pakistan tour who are already part of the T20 World Cup team. Players playing BBL will join the team after the end of BBL in Pakistan.
Selection committee chairman George Bailey also gave a statement regarding the team composition and selection. He said that this series is a great opportunity for those players who are on the verge of selection. Apart from this, young players will also get a chance to gain valuable experience with the World Cup group. Bailey specifically mentioned Mahalie Beardman and Jack Edwards, who are players with first-team international experience who can carve out roles in the team.

The team includes Shaun Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Mahali Beardman, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshius, Jack Edwards, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhneman, Mitch Owen, Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa. This team has been prepared to face the challenge of Pakistan and test its players before the World Cup.
