After Backlash, Neha Kakkar Announces Break From Personal & Professional Life; Deletes Post Minutes Later

Mumbai: After facing backlash for her song ‘Candy Shop’, singer Neha Kakkar took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to announce a break from her personal and professional life.

However, minutes later, she deleted the post.

“Time to take a break from responsibilities, relationships, work and everything I can think of right now. Not sure if I’ll be back or not. Thank you,” Neha posted.

Further, she requested paparazzi not to film her. “I request paparazzi and fans not to film me at all. I hope you respect my privacy and let me live freely in this world. No cameras plz! I request! This is the least you all can give me for my peace.”

Neha’s announcement came months after she and her brother Tony Kakkar were heavily trolled for their song, ‘Candy Shop’.

Netizens called their dance moves “cheap” and “vulgar”, and slammed the brother-sister duo for trying to copy Korean-pop artists.

Earlier, Neha made headlines for arriving three hours late at a Melbourne event.

A video showing her breaking down on the stage after the Melbourne audience booed her went viral and triggered a controversy.

Later, Neha accused the event organizers for all the commotion.
