Defamation Case: Rahul Gandhi’s appearance in MP-MLA court now on 20th February, had made objectionable remarks about Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sultanpur. The MP-MLA Court has given the last chance to Congress leader and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case. The court has ordered Rahul Gandhi to appear in person on February 20 and record his statement. Hearing was held on Monday in the ongoing defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. On the last appearance, the witness of the case Ramchandra Dubey had recorded his statement, after which the cross-examination was done by the advocates. Rahul Gandhi was to appear in the court on Monday, but he could not appear. The court had earlier fixed a date for Rahul Gandhi to appear personally and record his statement.

Rahul Gandhi’s advocate said that Rahul Gandhi will be present in the MP-MLA Court on 20th February. This matter is related to a statement given during the Karnataka Assembly elections about eight years ago. It is alleged that Rahul Gandhi had made objectionable remarks about the current Home Minister Amit Shah during that time. Hurt by this comment, BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in the MP-MLA Court. At present the hearing of this case is going on in MP-MLA Court. Rahul Gandhi has already recorded his statement in this case and is currently on bail.
