Which Vietnam airport is among 50 most connected globally?
Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC ranked 45th globally among the world’s 50 most connected airports last year, a report has shown.
This is a jump from the 54th place in 2024 for the airport, which offers over 8,300 possible connections to 94 destinations worldwide, according to the United Kingdom-based OAG, an aviation data and analytics provider.

It also noted that the flag carrier Vietnam Airlines held the largest market share at the airport at 37%. Previously, the most recent year Tan Son Nhat appeared in OAG’s Megahubs top 50 was 2022, when it placed 41st.
Among commercially operating airports in Vietnam, Tan Son Nhat is capable of handling nearly 50 million passengers a year after its third terminal began operations from the second quarter of 2025. The airport is managed by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam.
Globally, the United Kingdom’s London Heathrow retained its title as the world’s most connected airport for the third consecutive year, offering over 59,000 possible connections to 226 destinations on the busiest day.
It was the only airport in the global top 10 to retain the same ranking as last year. Every other airport in the top 10 have seen shifts in position – some positive and some negative.
In Southeast Asia, Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport was the most connected, ranking fourth globally. Changi Airport in Singapore placed 11th, while Bangkok Suvarnabhumi in Thailand ranked 12th.
