Khamenei’s claim: Iran has once again completely ended the US-backed conspiracy.

Tehran, January 18. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has said that Iran has once again defeated the United States and Israel. He said that Iran has completely ended the conspiracy instigated by Washington and Tel Aviv. In a speech given at a religious occasion, Khamenei alleged that the US had planned to spread unrest in Iran so that it could take control of Iran. According to Xinhua news agency, he described US President Donald Trump as a “criminal” responsible for the killings and destruction in the recent riots in Iran.

According to Khamenei, Trump openly made statements, supported the rioters and even talked about providing military help. Khamenei made it clear that Iran does not want war, but will not shy away from punishing those who spread unrest inside and outside the country. This statement has come at a time when the protests that have been going on in Iran for several weeks now seem to be subsiding. These demonstrations began in late December due to economic problems, but later turned violent. Iranian officials say that peaceful demonstrations turned into violence by anti-social elements. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Friday that security forces had detained about 3,000 people in connection with the unrest.

After the situation improved, mobile messaging service has been resumed from Saturday. According to Iranian media, schools will also reopen from Sunday after being closed for a week. On the same day, Lebanon’s Hezbollah announced its support for Iran. In a televised address on the Hezbollah-controlled al-Manar channel, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassim described Iran as a strong force of resistance and accused the US of trying to dominate the world. On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the “interference” comments of the Group of Seven countries. The ministry said that these statements are interference in Iran’s internal affairs and G-Seven should stop doing so.
