Letter written to Home Minister Amit Shah, sought time for meeting – Read
Aam Aadmi Party leader and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order in the capital. He has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In which he has mentioned the criminal incidents that have taken place in Delhi in the last few months. The leader has sought an appointment with the Home Minister to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation.
The AAP leader has said in the letter that serious criminal incidents that have taken place in Delhi in recent months, especially in recent months, have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the minds of common citizens, especially women, senior citizens and businessmen. He said that continuous incidents of murder, looting and firing are creating an atmosphere of fear among the people. He said that Delhi needs security, not silence.
Mentioned many incidents
In her letter, Atishi said, ‘Being the leader of opposition in the Delhi Assembly, I am writing this letter with deep concern about the continuously deteriorating law and order situation in the capital Delhi. He has also mentioned some incidents in his letter. An AAP worker was murdered near the house of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, there was a public murder outside the gym in Greater Kailash, there was a bomb blast near the Red Fort. He said that this attack is a big question mark on the security system of common citizens. Apart from this he also told about many incidents.
‘Public complaints are coming continuously’
The AAP leader said that in most of the cases, public complaints are coming to the fore regarding delay, inaction and lack of accountability of the police. He said that despite Delhi Police being directly under the Central Ministry, effective control on crimes does not seem to be established.
‘This is a question of the country’s prestige’
He said that being the capital of the country, the law and order of Delhi is not a matter of just one state, but it is a matter related to the prestige, internal security and democratic system of the entire country. He said that today the common citizen is forced to ask the question that when the country’s capital itself is not safe, then whom should the public trust for their security.
Atishi asked for an appointment
Atishi said in the letter, ‘As the Leader of Opposition, it is my constitutional responsibility to bring to your notice the concerns and expectations of the citizens of Delhi. In this sequence, I request you to please grant me time to meet you personally on serious issues related to the deteriorating law and order of Delhi, accountability of police administration and safety of citizens, so that these issues can be discussed in detail. He said that I am confident that you will consider this serious issue with sensitivity and take necessary concrete steps to ensure the safety of Delhiites and will definitely give us time to meet.
