CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the death of software engineer Yuvraj Mehta in Noida and formed an SIT to investigate.
New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the death of software engineer Yuvraj Mehta due to drowning in the swamp in Noida. The Chief Minister directed to get the matter investigated by SIT and asked for the report within five days. Noida CEO M. Lokesh has been removed with immediate effect. On the instructions of CM, a three-member SIT has been formed under the leadership of ADG of Meerut Zone. Divisional Commissioner of Meerut and Chief Engineer of PWD have also been included in this SIT.

Now this SIT will submit its report to the Chief Minister within five days after investigation. Taking action regarding this incident, Noida Authority has earlier issued a show cause notice to the concerned officials. Whereas Junior Engineer (JE) Naveen Kumar has been terminated with immediate effect. Instructions have also been given by the authority to submit the report of Lotus Builder to the concerned departments. Engineer’s father Rajkumar Mehta had accused him of negligence in the rescue. On the basis of the complaint given by them, an FIR has been registered against two builders at the Knowledge Park police station in Greater Noida.

This incident happened on the late night of 16 January. Yuvraj Mehta, a software engineer in a company in Gurugram, was going from his office towards Tata Eureka Society located in Sector-150, Noida at around 12 o’clock in the night. There was no barricade on the road connecting to the highway. Due to fog, Yuvraj’s car fell into a deep pit filled with water on the side of the road. It was a pit full of swamp. Yuvraj somehow came to the roof of the car. He called his father and informed him about the incident. The police administration team tried to save Yuvraj but could not save him. By the time the NDRF team arrived, Yuvraj’s car fell into a pit and he died.
