Short-handed Thunder take down Cavaliers

Behind 30 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and 28 from Chet Holmgren, the Oklahoma City Thunder (36-8) flexed its muscle in a 136-104 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers (24-20).

The Cavs kept the game close in the first quarter, but OKC steadily pulled away in the second half, even with Gilgeous-Alexander sitting out for nearly half of the fourth quarter.

While SGA and Holmgren showed out, Cavs star guard Donovan Mitchell struggled. He managed to score 19 points, but did so on an inefficient 5-of-18 mark from the field and a 1-of-9 clip from three.

Oklahoma City torched the nets from three, knocking down 23 shots from beyond the arc. That was contrasted by Cleveland’s inability to shoot the three on Monday afternoon, as the Cavs made only eight of 35 three-point attempts.
