CEO of Noida Authority removed, SIT formed for investigation, report within 5 days…CM Yogi’s action after engineer’s death

Uttar Pradesh: The case of the painful death of software engineer Yuvraj Mehta in Sector-150, Noida has once again exposed administrative negligence. In view of this serious incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has adopted a tough stance. The Chief Minister has removed Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M from his post with immediate effect and has ordered to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for an impartial investigation of the entire matter.

Investigation handed over to three-member SIT
Let us tell you that the three-member SIT formed on the instructions of the Chief Minister will investigate this entire accident layer by layer. This team will be led by the Divisional Commissioner of Meerut, while the ADG of Meerut Zone and the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department have also been included in the team. The Chief Minister has given clear instructions that the SIT will have to submit its report within five days, so that immediate action can be taken against those responsible.

How did the tragic accident happen?
This accident happened on January 17, when software engineer Yuvraj Mehta was passing through Sector-150 in his car. Due to dense fog, his car went out of control and fell into an approximately 20 feet deep, water-filled pit dug at a construction site. After the accident, Yuvraj was taken out in a rescue operation that lasted for hours, but by then he had lost his life.

Government’s zero tolerance policy on negligence
The state government has made it clear in this matter that if the investigation confirms negligence or violation of rules at any level, then strict action will be taken against the culprits. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials that providing justice to the victim’s family is the top priority and concrete steps should be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.

Case registered against builders
On the complaint of Yuvraj Mehta’s father Rajkumar Mehta, a case has been registered against two builders in Knowledge Park police station. It is alleged that safety standards were ignored at the construction site and the pit was neither covered properly nor any warning signs were installed. Police have registered a case and started investigation and all technical and administrative aspects are being examined closely.

Departmental action also started
After the accident, action has also been taken at the departmental level. Due to allegations of negligence, the concerned junior engineer has been suspended with immediate effect. The government has indicated that if the role of other officers or employees is found suspicious during the investigation, then strict action will be taken against them also.

Outrage in the area, demand for strict punishment
There is an atmosphere of anger in the area since the incident. Local people and family members are demanding arrest of the culprits and strict punishment. The administration has assured the people that the investigation will be completely fair and no culprit will be spared.

Security of citizens is the priority of the government
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reiterated that law and order and safety of citizens in the state is the top priority of the government. He said that the government will take action on such incidents under the policy of zero tolerance, so that in future no citizen loses his life due to negligence.
