10 year old house help beaten, ribs broken, CRPF constable arrested with wife
Police in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable on January 18. The constable and his wife face serious allegations of brutally assaulting a 10-year-old girl. According to the police, many serious injuries were found on the girl’s body. It has also been confirmed that his ribs and teeth were broken due to the assault. Also, the CRPF jawan had kept the girl for domestic work in his government quarter without any government permission.
Investigation has revealed that the girl was being beaten and physically abused for a long time. It is alleged that he was kept hungry for several days. Due to the assault, the girl’s condition became critical, after which she was admitted to the hospital.

identification of the accused
Currently the girl is on ventilator in a private hospital in Noida and is battling for life and death. Police have identified the accused as constable Tariq Anwar of the 235th battalion of CRPF and his wife Rimpa Khatoon. Rimpa Khatoon’s relatives had brought the girl to their home inside the CRPF camp in Greater Noida. Investigation has revealed that the girl was made to do household chores. The children living in the house were also taken care of.
Noida Police officer said, it is alleged that both of them physically abused the girl over small matters. Between January 14 and 15, the girl was beaten so badly that she had to be admitted to the hospital. Subedar Major of CRPF lodged a complaint at Ecotech-III police station and on the basis of the same, a case was registered under section 110 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).

An officer said, ‘Tariq has been suspended by CRPF and a departmental inquiry has also been started against him. The girl was living with the couple in their residential quarters inside the CRPF camp in Greater Noida. The jawan had neither given any information in this regard to his department nor had taken any permission to keep the girl with him. At present the girl is undergoing treatment in a local private hospital. Information about the matter has also been given to the officials of the Child Welfare Department.

The girl was first admitted to Sarvodaya Hospital and later taken to Max Hospital 128 where she was put on ventilator.
The officer further said, ‘Medical test of the victim was conducted, which revealed that she was suffering from severe malnutrition. During investigation, many injury marks were found on his body. Due to the assault, the girl’s bones were broken, nails were torn and teeth were also found broken. There are deep wounds on his body and swelling is seen all over the body. Apart from this, his hemoglobin level has dropped drastically to 1.9.
An Assistant Commandant of CRPF has expressed concern over the delay in filing the complaint. According to the police, the residential quarter where the girl was found was being vacated without being sealed for forensic examination. This makes it clear that the evidence may have been tampered with. At the same time, CRPF has confirmed the suspension of the concerned constable and said that internal action is also being taken at the departmental level to cooperate in the police investigation.
