Woman robbed in broad daylight in Jhunjhunu Dundlod
In Ward No. 1 of Dundlod, four miscreants sprayed a woman in the eyes, showed her a knife and looted jewelery and cash from her house. The woman became unconscious. Police are examining CCTV footage.
Jhunjhunu: There was a stir in Ward No. 1 of Dundlod town on Monday when a sensational incident of robbery in a house in broad daylight came to light. According to the victim woman, three women and a man came outside her house and introduced themselves as related to some old transaction.
The accused said that the woman’s mother-in-law owed Rs 5,000 and they had come to collect the same amount. When the woman told that her mother-in-law was not at home and had gone to a wedding ceremony, the accused started arguing. They put pressure on him and said that they will not go back without taking the money.
Deadly attack as soon as the gate opened
As soon as the woman started opening the gate, the accused suddenly attacked her. The miscreants sprayed the woman in her eyes, due to which she could not see anything. Meanwhile, one of the accused placed a knife on his neck and started scaring him.
After this the woman was beaten and dragged inside the house. The miscreants collected gold and silver jewelery and cash kept in the cupboard and other places. The entire incident was carried out within a few minutes.
Only women were present in the house
At the time of the incident, only the woman and her small child were present in the house. Other family members had gone to a wedding ceremony. After the miscreants left, the woman’s condition deteriorated and she became unconscious.
With the help of neighbours, the woman was immediately taken to Nawalgarh District Hospital, where her treatment is ongoing. Only after the woman regains consciousness will the correct information about the looted goods be revealed.
Police engaged in investigation
As soon as information about the incident was received, Mukundgarh police reached the spot and took stock of the incident. The police interrogated the people nearby and started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area.
Police officials say that efforts are being made to identify the accused and they will be arrested soon. At present a case has been registered and investigation is ongoing. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the area and people are raising questions about the security arrangements.
