New Delhi: After many years, Kerala will show its tableau in the Republic Day Parade on the duty path of New Delhi on 26 January 2026. The main attraction of the state tableau will be Kochi Water Metro. After not being included in 2025 and the last several years, Kerala is now returning with the message of innovation, sustainability and self-reliance.

Kochi Water Metro is different from traditional boats

Kochi Water Metro is India’s first fully electric water transport system. It is different from traditional boats. It is barrier-free, connected to metro rail and feeder services. This has reduced the problem of traffic jam in the city and the environment has also benefited. By showing its model in the tableau, Kerala will set an example of eco-friendly and modern transportation.

Pride of 100% digital literacy

The tableau will also highlight Kerala’s 100 percent digital literacy along with Kochi Water Metro. This achievement shows the inclusive development and self-reliance of the state. The theme is ‘Self-reliant Kerala for Self-reliant India’, which is linked to the Centre’s ‘Mantra of Prosperity – Self-reliant India’.
