Maruti Suzuki India Limited is investing 35000 crores to build a new plant at Khorja in Gujarat. The company plans to produce a total of 10 lakh cars annually at this plant. Moreover, the new auto plant is expected to provide employment to approximately 12000 people.

The plant will be set up on 1750 acres of land
Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat will be built on 1750 acres of land provided by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). The company’s managing director Hitachi Takechi presented the investment letter to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at a ceremony held between the state government and the automaker in Gandhinagar. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Maruti Suzuki Whole Time Director and Executive Committee Member Sunil Kakkar were also present.
Gujarat is booming in the automobile sector
Gujarat is set to progress even faster in the automobile sector. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel posted this information on his official X (X) account. He wrote that he is happy that Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has handed over the investment letter to the Gujarat government for setting up a mega car manufacturing plant at Khoraj with an investment of Rs 35,000 crore.

The Chief Minister further mentioned that the project will boost the development of supporting industries and MSME sector, as well as create a strong automobile manufacturing cluster in the state.
Appreciating the India-Japan partnership, Chief Minister Patel said that Maruti Suzuki’s presence in Gujarat is a symbol of global confidence in strategic governance, world-class infrastructure network and conducive business environment. He further explained that Gujarat is emerging strongly as one of the major automobile hubs of India as well as preferred destinations for global investors.
