Salman Khan Delhi High Court Notice News: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan Currently, a legal battle is being fought to protect our ‘Personality Rights’. A Chinese AI voice generation company that misused his voice has now challenged the Delhi High Court’s earlier order. Taking cognizance of this petition, the court has issued a notice to Salman Khan, and this matter has now become more complicated.

Background of the case

A few months ago, a Chinese company used artificial intelligence (AI) technology to recreate the exact voice of Salman Khan. Fake ads, misleading videos and social media content were created using this voice. Realizing that his image was tarnished due to this, Salman Khan approached the Delhi High Court.

Interim order of the court

On December 11, 2025, while hearing the case, the Delhi High Court had given an interim order in favor of Salman Khan. The court had clarified that using a person’s voice, face or name for commercial gain without their permission is a violation of their ‘personality rights’. According to this order, the Chinese company was immediately prohibited from using Salman’s voice.

The Chinese company’s response and challenge

The Chinese AI company has expressed its displeasure over this ban by the High Court. The company has filed a petition challenging the order, saying that creating an artificial voice of any person is a legitimate commercial activity and it is unfair to ban it outright. The court order is preventing the company from properly developing its AI models, affecting its technological research. The voice created by AI is a replica of the original voice, which the company says is part of the technological advancement.

Personality rights and the dilemma of AI technology

The case has now sparked a new debate on technological freedom and fundamental human rights. With the help of AI technology, there has been an increase in creating ‘deepfakes’ using celebrities’ voices or faces. This is also increasing the incidence of fraud. In the past, Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor have also won court battles to protect their rights in a similar manner.

Attention to further hearing

Everyone’s attention is now on the court’s stance on this challenging petition filed by the Chinese company. The court has issued a notice to Salman Khan and asked him to present his statement. The outcome of this case could mark an important step in the future use of AI technology.
