After winning the toss, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner decided to bowl first. Commenting on this, he said, “We will bowl first. The pitch looks very good and there is a chance of a big score. Last week was very special. Every team knows how difficult it is to come to India and win a match, but this is a new series and India is a strong team in home conditions. It is a good start for us in preparation for the World Cup. There are three fast bowlers in the team. Clarke is making his debut, Jamieson and Duffy are also playing.”
Thinking of bowling first: Suryakumar Yadav
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadavlost the toss, then reacted by saying, “We were planning to bowl first, as we realized there was dew around 8.30 pm during our warm-up. But we don’t mind batting first and we have done well batting first. Shreyas, Harshit, Bishnoi and Kuldeep didn’t get a chance in today’s match.”
