Why is it important to take daily bath? Not just cleaning, these are mental and physical benefits

In today’s fast-paced life, every work is being done in a hurry, and it has often become difficult to find time for oneself. Due to having such a busy life, a person is not able to eat food comfortably. People do not have time to eat or even take a proper bath. Bathing not only cleans the body but also refreshes the mind. Both body and mind feel energized by the soft waves of water. According to Ayurveda, bathing is a small ritual that gives us freshness, health and purity from within.

Often people think that bathing is just a daily task, which cleans the body. But in Ayurveda, bathing was not considered only for physical cleanliness. It is considered both ‘sanskar’ and ‘medicine’, which cleanses the mind as well as the body.

Benefits of bathing from body to mind

Taking bath daily not only removes dirt from the body but also fills the mind with energy and freshness. It has many more benefits:

  • The digestion system also improves.
  • Laziness is removed and fatigue is reduced.
  • This keeps the mind happy and positive.
  • Negative energy stays away.
  • Improves blood circulation.

It is said in Ayurveda that by taking bath daily, metabolism (Agni) remains balanced and body temperature remains controlled. When water falls on the body, blood circulation increases and digestion power becomes active.

Effect on mental health

Bathing improves mental health. Stress is reduced and cortisol level in the body is reduced. Also, the level of endorphin hormone increases, which makes the mind happy and comfortable. If you have sleep problems, taking a bath with lukewarm water calms the nervous system and helps you sleep better. If you are not able to take a complete bath, it is beneficial to at least soak your feet in lukewarm water for some time.

correct bathing method

There are three main rules for bathing in Ayurveda:

Abhyanga (Massage with oil): Apply light oil and massage 15 minutes before bathing. It makes the body soft and relaxed.

use of ubtan:This is a traditional process of Ayurveda. In which the body is massaged with hot oil and herbal decoctions, then a purification bath is taken.

chanting mantras: Chant positive mantra during bath, it not only gives mental peace but also maintains positive energy.

Like food, water, sleep and air, daily bathing is also very important in our life. Bathing not only gives us freshness and cleanliness, but it also increases our energy and excitement. Every work in life is important, but if we do all our work on time and in a good manner, then we should not forget to take some time for ourselves and take a bath. This is very important for our physical and mental health.
