Who is Simran Bala?, will command the men’s CRPF unit in the Republic Day Parade?

Simran Bala CRPF: Republic Day is celebrated on 26 January, on which day people enjoy watching the grand parade on TV. But this time something different and special will be seen on Republic Day. Simran Bala, a 26-year-old CRPF assistant commandant from Jammu and Kashmir, will lead the contingent of over 140 men this time. This will be a historic moment as for the first time a woman officer will lead a contingent of men. Now the question in your mind will be that who is Simran Bala, who has received this big honour. Simran Wala is a resident of Nowshera in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. It was his dream to join CRPF since childhood, as he had seen the cross-border firing around him, which gave him the courage to do something for the country. Simran Wala studied till 10th standard in Nowshera. After that she went to Jammu where she completed her 12th standard. Then she did graduation in Political Science from Government Women’s College, Gandhinagar. Then she started preparing for UPSC CAPF and passed in the first attempt.

In June 2023, Simran passed the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination of UPSC. She is the first and only woman from Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this success. A total of 151 people across the country were successful, in which Simran got 82nd rank. This is a huge achievement for them and clearly shows that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Her success has inspired not only her family but also other women of Jammu and Kashmir that they too can fulfill their dreams.

After clearing the CAPF Assistant Commandant examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Simran was sent to the CRPF Academy in Gurugram for training. He also received awards for best officer and public lecture during the training. He joined CRPF in April 2025. Simran’s bravery can be gauged from the fact that her first posting was in Naxal affected area Chhattisgarh, where she was given the responsibility of handling the operation against Naxalites.

Actually, initially Simran was only participating in the Republic Day parade, but later she was given the leadership of the contingent. His excellent performance during the rigorous rehearsals for the parade attracted the attention of senior officers. His confidence, perfection in drill and command over the troop made him impressive. For this reason, on January 26, he got the honor of leading the CRPF unit.
