Deepinder Goyal steps down as CEO, Albinder Dhindsa to take over from February 1
Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of Zomato’s parent company, Eternal, has resigned as CEO of the company (Zomato CEO Resignation). He will cease to hold the positions of Director, Managing Director, and CEO effective February 1, 2026. Albinder Singh Dhindsa, the current CEO of Blinkit, will replace him as Eternal’s new Chief Executive Officer.
According to information provided by the company, Deepinder Goyal will be appointed as Vice Chairman and Director for the next five years, subject to shareholder approval. Eternal’s board has forwarded this proposal for approval.
Deepinder Goyal will focus on new experiments
Deepinder Goyal addressed his decision to step down as CEO in a social media post. He stated that he currently wants to pursue new and riskier ideas, which are more appropriate to explore outside the framework of a public company. He also clarified that Eternal should explore new growth areas while maintaining discipline and focus within its existing business model.
Albinder Dhindsa gets a big responsibility
Albinder Singh Dhindsa, who oversaw Blinkit’s rapid expansion and built a strong operational model as CEO, will now lead the company (Zomato CEO Resignation) as CEO of Eternal. He will assume the role of Key Managerial Personnel effective February 1, 2026.
Zomato is now part of Eternal
It’s worth noting that last year, Zomato rebranded itself to Eternal. Eternal currently
operates brands like Zomato, Blinkit, District, Hyperpure, and Feeding India.
The company’s shares surged following the news of the leadership change and the announcement of quarterly results. Eternal shares rose nearly 5% to close at around ₹283 on the BSE, while intraday they reached ₹287.
